Huawei Honor 9 Lite: 5.65-inch smartphone with Fullview display, Kirin 659, octa-core and four cameras for just $185

What better way to spend the year-end holidays with a new smartphone, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, as Huawei Honor 9 Lite can testify.

It has been a long year for everybody, and Huawei is about to draw the curtain close with the release of Honor 9 Lite. It is seen as a cheaper alternative to the Honor 9 flagship that was released in middle of this year as per below specs:

  • 5.15-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (~428 ppi pixel density)
  • Metal body
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, Octa-core (4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-G71 MP8 graphics and 4GB/6GB RAM
  • Dual 20MP+12MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture

  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • June 2017 release date
  • ~$399 USD for 64GB model and ~$439 USD for 128GB model

Honor 9 captures everyone’s attention as it was all about flagship performance that you have come to expect, but none of its expensive price tag. With a 5.15-inch Full HD LTPS IPS screen, wrapped in a so-beautiful metal body, powered by the greatest hardware at that time, blessed with an amazing 20MP-12MP primary camera and the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS; means that you have an instant winner.

With that in mind, let’s turn our attention to the Honor 9 Lite:

  • 5.65-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~428 ppi density
  • Fullview display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, Octa-core (4×2.36 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T830 MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM
  • Dual 13MP+2MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • Dual 13MP+2MP secondary camera
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • Android Oreo 8.0
  • Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • 26th December 2017 release date
  • 1,199 Chinese Yuan or ~$185 USD for 32GB storage + 3GB RAM,   1,499 Chinese Yuan or ~$229 USD for 32GB storage + 4GB RAM and 1,799 Chinese Yuan or ~$275 USD for 64GB storage + 4GB RAM

We were a little bit surprised though, as we normally associate a Lite version with something smaller and lesser performance.

But not with the Honor 9 Lite, as it starts off with having a larger 5.65-inch Full HD IPS screen and Fullview display to its advantage. The large screen and the latest technology in display will surely appeal to everyone in this case.

Even when we talk about the Honor 9 Lite’s performance, it is somewhere in the mid-range of things. Still powerful enough to run most of the apps and games that are out there in the market.

Perhaps the best part is on the camera, to be exact its four cameras. It has shift the game to a whole new level, with Honor 9 Lite sporting a dual 13MP+2MP primary camera and the same spec is found on its selfie camera as well. This means that this camera smartphone is something special, as you get to take high-res photos with bokeh effect and fantastic selfie quality as well.

If price is an issue, you can opt for the 32GB internal storage variant and pop in a microSD card that can easily add up to a maximum of 256GB.

Finally, the latest Android Oreo 8.0 operating system accompanies its release, and this is a big plus point for the Honor 9 Lite.

Conclusion:

Huawei Honor 9 Lite took everyone by surprise, as you don’t have to spend big to get a large 5.65-inch Full HD IPS screen with Fullview display, mid-range performance, an amazing four cameras to its name and the latest OS to make for an unbeatable price.

Huawei Honor 9 Lite had just been released last 26th December 2017, and you still have time to get yourself one for celebrating the New Year.
